Our mission

Our mission is to transform food waste into environmental justice, climate resilience, and community empowerment. We exist to make composting simple, accessible, and meaningful — starting right here in southeastern Connecticut. By reconnecting people to the soil and reducing our collective footprint, we help build a healthier planet and a more sustainable future for all.

We are also committed to promoting sustainability in our community by increasing awareness, education, and access to composting — with the goal of significantly expanding composting efforts across the state.

Our Story

Changes Compost was born out of a desire to create something simple, sacred, and powerful: a community-centered composting service that diverts waste, heals soil, and builds connection. We started in Norwich, CT with one bin, one block, and one question:

What if regeneration started right here, with what we throw away?

We knew not everyone had the time, space, or access to compost. So we created a model that’s clean, local, affordable, and rooted in community.

Today, we serve households, schools, small businesses, and green spaces—turning food scraps into fuel for a thriving future.
